Natasha Zulkifli was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of TSH on 2 July 2018. She also serves as the Chairperson of the Nomination Committee.
She received her education in Kuala Lumpur, New Zealand and London, and holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the London School of Economics (LSE), with a special focus on European Union and international law.
Natasha has extensive experience in strategy development, business transformation and culture change, complemented by hands-on involvement in large-scale rail infrastructure projects. Her experience spans rail operations, infrastructure delivery, international partnerships, and government-to-government engagement.
She is Director (Stakeholder & Business Development) at YTL Construction, part of the YTL Group. She was a core member of the project team responsible for the delivery of the 192km electrified double-track Gemas–Johor Bahru rail line for the Government of Malaysia. The project has been completed and formally handed over to the Government. In addition, she established and leads the YTL Learning Academy, a certified training provider focused on workforce development, capability building and organisational upskilling across the Group.
Natasha has extensive experience in Malaysia’s public transport and rail sector, having previously served at Prasarana Malaysia Berhad and the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD).
In 2017, driven by her commitment to human capital development and gender diversity in the rail industry, Natasha founded Women in Rail Malaysia, a not-for-profit organisation established to promote equality, inclusion and long-term talent development within the Malaysian rail sector. She continues to lead the organisation, advocating the rail industry as a career of choice for young women.
Natasha previously served as Executive Director of the Malaysia-Europe Forum (MEF), where she led initiatives to strengthen economic relations and bilateral understanding between Malaysia and Europe, particularly in business and trade.
Between 2015 and 2019, Natasha represented Malaysia on the Business Women’s Working Group of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC). Her contributions to the rail and transport sector have received international and national recognition. In 2019, she was recognised by the German Government as one of the ‘Remarkable Women in Transport’. In 2021, she was awarded the inaugural Outstanding Woman of the Year in Rail Award by the Government of Malaysia. In 2022, she was recognised by the International Railway Journal as a winner of the Women in Rail Awards.
In addition to her role at TSH, Natasha is a Board Member of MyCreative Ventures Sdn. Bhd., a Ministry of Finance (Incorporated) company under the Government of Malaysia, supporting the development of Malaysia’s creative economy.
She currently serves as Chair of the British-Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (BMCC) Diversity, Equity & Inclusivity Network. She is a certified and accredited trainer and is a regular speaker at international rail and public transport conferences. She also contributes thought leadership articles from time to time, including opinion pieces published in The Edge.
